Is it worth taking an on line course for Pharmacy or Vet Technician?

My time is limited away from home so an online course would be best suited for me. I was thinking of doing something with Pharmacy technician or Vet Tech. Is it worthy of spending the money on these online programs? Will it help you secure a job or do most places train on the job? Kaplan U has contacted me on Pharmacy Tech. Any opinions out there? What are some of the best online schools? Thanks!

    I HONESTLY DONT THINK SO, A WHILE BACK I TOOK ONE AS A VET. ASSISTAN WHICH IS THE SAME AS VET TECH I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING A JOB, WHEN I FINALLY FINISHED THE COURSE AND GOT MY DIPLOMA. WHENEVER I GOT THE ACTUAL DIPLOMA IT ONLY SAID ANIMAL SCIENCE..I REALLY AM NOT SURE IF THAT IS WHAT ITS SUPPOSE TO SAY. PLUS I DID NOT HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE GIVING SHOTS, HANDLING CERTAIN ANIMALS ETC. ETC. I DONT KNOW IF I WAS TO DO ANOTHER COURSE OVER THE INTERNET IT WOULD HAVE TO BE SOMETHING WHICH IS ALL PAPER WORK RELATED.

    I don’t give any value to online programs. All that pharmacists care about is if you are certified. That is the big deal. Pharm Tech does not pay well, you’ll be lucky to make $13 per hour with several years of experience.
