What is a better field to start a career, Medical Billing/coder or Pharmacy Technician?

Carrie asked:

I am currently in school to be a Medical Biller/coder and was wondering if this is a better field of study than Pharmacy Technician. My second choice. Where would I be happier?

Pharmacy Technician pays 12 per hour
medical billing pays 10 per hour
    neither are good paying careers

I’m a pharmacy technician. To be honest I really hate my job. It’s pretty stressful, but it pays ok. I know a few technician’s that are training to be medical billers, but I also know a lot of medical billers that can’t find work. You could get a job as a pharmacy clerk, to see if you like it or not. All medical jobs are probably pretty stressful, but more guaranteed for stability. Good luck. (I make more than $12, like the other person said, and I have a friend that makes $30 an hour as a tech, depends what company).

I recommend doing both billing and coding to be the most employable.
